Welcome to Minds Matter NYC

Minds Matter of NYC is the founding chapter of Minds Matter, a national not-for-profit organization serving high-achieving, low-income students in cities across the United States. 

Our mission is to transform the lives of accomplished high school students from low-income families by broadening their dreams and preparing them for college success.

Since its inception in New York City in 1991, the effectiveness of Minds Matter has been affirmed – 100% of our students have been accepted into a four-year college. The organization has expanded to ten cities, including Boston, Chicago, Cleveland, Denver, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia,  Portland, San Francisco and the Twin Cities.
