Meet our second amazing runner for the NYC Half Marathon on March 15! Check out our interview with Rachel and help her reach her fundraising goal:
Name: Rachel Mariotti
Profession: Personal Trainer at Equinox 50th St
How did you learn about Minds Matter? I learned through my friend Jeff Vogel who has been involved for nearly 10 years.
What inspired you to run in the NYC Half Marathon? The energy of the NYC Half is unprecedented. I have been running it for the past three years. This year, I am proud to support Minds Matter and run for the Sophomore students that I help mentor: Bea, Monique, Jahod, Can, Alfredo, Tracy, Saleema, Nicole, and Jenny.
What are your pre-race rituals? No heavy eating two nights before race day. lay out my clothes the night of. Banana and coffee in the AM. Blast my spotify playlist on the way to start, which includes Drake, Kaskade, Gui Boratto, Dake, and more hip hop.
What’s your favorite way to motivate yourself when you’re running? Running is time that I have to myself where my thoughts are able to unwind. I love running outdoors – usually the West Side Highway or Central Park – and I love how I feel when I’m finished, as most runners do!
Cheer Rachel on at the NYC Half and help her reach her fundraising goal!
